About Money in the World
Money in the World is a free market-information site that puts very different kinds of assets on one screen. Instead of checking a stock site for companies, another site for cryptocurrencies and a third for gold, you can see them ranked side by side by market value: the largest listed companies, precious metals, major cryptocurrencies, key commodities, currency pairs and stock indices.
What you can do here
- Browse a single global ranking and filter it by category.
- Open any asset page for a live price, the daily change and charts from 1 hour to 10 years.
- Use the heatmap to see at a glance which markets are rising or falling.
- Follow a watchlist, a simple portfolio and price alerts that are stored privately in your own browser.
- Read plain-language explanations of each asset and what tends to move its price in our Learn section.
Where the data comes from
Cryptocurrency prices come from Binance's public market data. Prices for company shares, metals, commodities, currencies, indices and interest rates on the asset pages are fetched from Yahoo Finance. Some figures on the main ranking page, such as market capitalization for companies and metals, are approximations and may not be real-time. Each page states its source, and no figure should be treated as an official quote.
Our approach
We aim to keep the site fast, readable and honest about its limits. We do not sell financial products, we do not give personal investment recommendations, and the explanations we write describe how markets generally work rather than telling you what to buy or sell. The site is supported by advertising, which is clearly labelled and kept away from the controls you use to read the data.
